Steps Toward the Future
A lot has changed in the past few months. After moving and setting up the new studio, we put on a MASSIVE show with over 200 people in attendance, I switched into live channels as a Guru at Shopify, and I started producing a high-end blue screen commercial.
The show was a monster! So many great people came out and played, from the multimedia rap performance of Wettworker to the heaviness of Anchoress. It was a great time, and everyone survived for the most part. With a party of that size, that's better than we were expecting! Also a huge shoutout to all the fantastic costumes, next year we'll have to set up a photobooth to immortalize them all!
Switching over to live channels has been a bit of a challenge, as the hours took a bit of getting used to instead of the early morning wakeups. Nothing beats the team spirit and cooperative mentality there; I've never felt so connected with my coworkers before, and I haven't even met them in person yet! I'm focusing on bettering my ability to find value and my confidence in what I know, but it feels more like a quest to make my job easier rather than an act of self-preservation.
With the commercial I'm producing it's been a challenge of another sort. Working in a relatively small space for the subject matter was the first hurdle, blue-screening an entire section of wall and shelving in order to key out a rather large machine. This would have worked, if it weren't for the highly reflective nature of the beast... so now we're attempting to move into the next room. To do so, we'll have to rip apart a door, move some massive equipment, and haul our subject in carefully. Then, it's reset the screen, reset the lights, and get back to production.
Hopefully soon we'll have more vlog material out, at least one store walkthrough video, and some of the fantastic video footage from the Halloween show. Can't wait to post more!!
Cheers,
Stay
